05 Experiences

Five ways to spend the water.

Start from a style and we will preload the builder. Everything can be rearranged.

  1. A private table on the water at golden hour. The captain finds the calm anchorage, the chef plates on deck, and you are back at the dock before the harbor lights come up.

Day boat from $1,150 · up to 8 guests

From the deck of a yacht at sunset, a city skyline glows across the water.
  2. Friday afternoon to Sunday evening. A sailing yacht, one anchorage worth the trip, and a phone that stays in the drawer.

Sailing yacht from $4,300 base · up to 8 guests

Two sailing yachts at anchor in clear turquoise water.
  3. Cross the Gulf Stream, then take the islands slowly: Bimini, the Berry Islands, the Exumas. Swim before breakfast, snorkel after, and let the captain choose the anchorage by the wind.

Sailing yacht or catamaran from $15,050 base · up to 8 guests

A white sailing catamaran at anchor in a turquoise cove below green hills.
  4. Client days, leadership offsites and incentive trips, run with the discretion of a private office. Branded arrivals, quiet working hours, and a crew that reads the room.

Motor yacht from $6,800 per night · up to 12 guests

An aerial view of a white motor yacht cutting across deep green water below a forested shore.
  5. Milestone birthdays, anniversaries, proposals. Your manager choreographs the day with the chef, sommelier, photographer and music, and keeps the surprise a surprise.

06 How it works

From first call to disembark.

The same person answers your first message and meets you at the dock. Nothing gets handed off, and nothing arrives as a surprise on the final invoice.

  1. 01

    Tell us the occasion

Use the builder or simply call. Dates, guests, the mood you want. Ten minutes is plenty.

  2. 02

    Receive an all-in proposal

Within one business day: the vessel, an itinerary, and every cost itemized, including fuel, crew, provisioning and dockage.

  3. 03

Confirm and let us handle the rest

Contract, advance allowance, provisioning sheet and, for the Bahamas, customs and cruising permits. Your manager owns the checklist.

  4. 04

    Step aboard

Your captain briefs the group on the dock, the crew takes the bags, and your concierge stays on call until everyone is home.

07 Questions

The costs, in plain words.

The Advance Provisioning Allowance is a deposit, typically 25 to 35 percent of the charter fee, that covers fuel, food and drink, dockage and port fees. Your captain keeps receipts, we reconcile them with you at the end of the charter, and any unused balance is returned.

Fuel is billed at cost through the APA, not folded into the day rate, so a quiet week costs less than a fast one. The builder estimates it by vessel type: motor yachts burn the most, sailing yachts and catamarans the least.

Gratuity is discretionary and paid to the crew directly at the end of the charter. The industry guidance is 15 to 20 percent of the charter fee, and our estimate uses 15 percent so the number you plan around is not a surprise.

Terms are set out in your charter agreement and depend on the vessel and season. As a guide, the deposit is refundable in stages the further out you cancel, and weather cancellations by the captain are rescheduled or credited. Your concierge walks you through it before you sign.

Yes. Every Halyard charter is captained by a licensed master, with crew sized to the vessel. We do not offer bareboat charters, so no sailing experience is needed and nobody on your side is responsible for the boat.

Before you sail we send a preference sheet: dietary needs, favorite wines, what the children will actually eat. The crew provisions to it. The builder estimates provisioning per guest per day, and the real spend comes out of the APA.
