Materials & Craft

We choose the tree before we choose the shape.

Every piece begins with the material, not the render. We build primarily in solid oak, walnut and ash sourced from FSC-certified forestry programs, and we specify OEKO-TEX certified textiles for anything that touches skin. It costs more and takes longer. We think it's the only honest way to make furniture meant to outlast a lease.

  • Solid wood, not veneer-first

    Frames and visible surfaces are solid where it matters — no particleboard shortcuts on load-bearing joinery.

  • Responsibly sourced

    Timber comes from FSC-certified forestry partners committed to responsible, traceable harvesting.

  • Textiles that meet you halfway

    Upholstery fabrics are OEKO-TEX certified, tested for harmful substances before they reach your home.

  • Finished by hand

    Oils and sealants are applied and buffed by hand in small batches, which is why no two grains read quite the same.

For a full room, a single hard-to-place piece, or a whole home in progress — our design team works directly with homeowners and with designers sourcing on a client's behalf. A first consultation is complimentary and runs about 45 minutes, in a showroom or over video.
